Lately many things have hit home with me.
Today music lost DJ AM, Adam Goldstein, to an apparent drug over dose.  I’ve had many friends get lost in the dark world of drugs, some have found their way out, and some haven’t.  Drugs are never a way to make things better.  I know that for many of you I am, as we say here in the South, “preaching to the choir” but you may know someone who has lost their way and who needs to be shown the light.  Please be that light for them, show them what life can be like if they just try.My Boss, Jimmy Stanley, also passed away today.  He was the only person willing to give me a job after college and I will always remember the opportunity that he gave me.  He wasn’t always the greatest person or best boss in the world, but he was one of those people who was always there to lend an ear, and could make the business side of things something that any one could understand. We never know when our last day here on Earth will be, and we never know how we will meet that end.  Please remember to tell those close to you what they mean to you, and never let the opportunity to talk to them or see them pass.  You don’t know what tomorrow will hold, or if it will even come.  Don’t leave home mad, don’t let the last words you say to someone be in anger, and don’t forget to take a chance every now and then.Live for today, dream for tomorrow, and always remember that you are loved.

Has it really been 8 years!?  As I sit here typing I’m listening to (hides behind sofa) CCR’s “Who’ll Stop The Rain,” (yes I know it’s not Josh, please don’t faint) and remembering the unfortunate event that brought me back to Josh.  Yes, you read that right, even though I watched both Alley McBeal’s that Josh was on, and my mom had bought his debut album, which I listened to, but the only two song that I stupidly ripped to my computer were “To Where You Are” and “You’re Still You” (Now when I look back on that I wanna slap myself and make myself rip the entire album right then and there, but that isn’t gonna happen, at least until someone invents a time machine.), I didn’t take a lot of notice of either song until July 31, 2008.  It is a day that I wish I could go back in time and change, but if I did that I wouldn’t have sat down at the computer, opened iTunes, randomly picked a song to play, which happened to be “To Where You Are,” and rediscovered Josh.
That day at around 5:15 pm Jackie, one of my co-workers and best friends, was killed in a car accident, on the corner where she lived.  The part that still to this day puts shivers down my spine is that her son was outside and saw the accident happen.  At that time not even my husbands voice could calm me down, I had to listen to some music.  When I sat there listening, to Josh sing, it’s like a weight was lifted off my shoulders and a calming hand was placed on my heart.  I knew at that moment that she was in a better place, and was watching all of her family and friends, pleading with us to not cry, to not be sad, that she would never leave us.  I put “To Where You Are” on repeat and sat there for what seamed like forever listening to Josh.  To this day I still am unable to listen to “To Where You Are” with out crying at some point during the song.
Okay now I know that you’re wondering why CCR’s “Who’ll Stop The Rain” jogged my memory of that day, well that’s simple, Jackie was a Creedence fan!

Grobanites For Charity

Life isn’t worth living if you don’t believe in something and stand behind it.  I found, not just one person to believe in, but thousands!  Thank you, to not only Josh, but to my fellow Grobanites for showing me away to give back and look forward at the same time.  I love you all!
